Piers Morgan details ‘getting drunk at 4am in gay bars’ with Susanna Reid

Piers Morgan has described "getting durnk at 4am in gay bars" with his presenting partner Susanna Reid.

The pair skipped their afternoon naps to go on Loose Women and chat to Ruth Langsford, Penny Lancaster, Saira Khan and Stacey Solomon about working together for three years on Good Morning Britain.

Piers said many things have changed since they started together, especially their drinking patterns.

He said, when asked if the pair were mates: "I wouldn’t go that far – we used to go out drinking three times a year.

"We used to get drunk and we’d end up at 4am in the morning in gay bars and stuff like that, but now she doesn’t drink, she’s given up caffeine, she barely eats, so it’s not a big night out anymore.

"I’ve lost my drinking partner!"

Asked whether his upset was caused by his being "jealous" of Susanna’s new beau, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish, he replied: "What would I have to be jealous about – we’re the same age, he’s got a multimillion pound football club, what would I have to be jealous of?

"He’s got a nice Ferarri as well."

But Piers was also slightly frustrated that he was not "getting the goods" of a marriage, as he presents with his "TV wife" all the time.

He joked: "We have an arranged TV marriage but none of the good stuff."

They then talked about the early mornings they have had to deal with over the years, with Susanna admitting to having done almost 20 years of 4am starts in her various morning jobs.

The pair then went through "couples’ therapy" as they joked about their TV marriage and their relationship, especially after Pier made a shock proposal of marriage to Susanna on the show this morning, offering her a gorgeous ring from Poundland.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
