Piers Morgan slams Madonna as 'rude and unfunny' after Gemma Collins reveals star is her 'idol' on Life Stories

PIERS Morgan slams Madonna as "rude and unfunny" in tonight's Life Stories with Gemma Collins – after the star admits that the 62-year-old singer is her "idol".

The 55-year-old presenter is visibly unimpressed with Gemma's choice, and doesn't hold back when it comes to sharing his thoughts on the music legend.

In a sneak peek at tonight's show, Gemma says of Madge: "I love her, Piers – I love her so much."

Deadpan, the Good Morning Britain host replies: "I can't stand her."

The shocked GC quizzes: "Have you met her? Was she funny?", to which Piers says "yes" and "no".

Gemma then asks if Madonna was "rude", and Piers answers yes, with Gemma going on to tease: "And you couldn't win her over?"

The star chuckles as he admits that he couldn't, and the former Towie favourite admits that she was "surprised" by his comments.

When Piers asks if Madonna is her "role model", Gemma explains: "I just love the fact that she's gone through a lot in her life and she's 60 and still carrying on.

"She don't stop, and that's the way I want to be."

This is not the first time that Piers has taken a swipe at Madonna, regularly ranting about the Like A Virgin hitmaker on his ITV breakfast show.

In September, he called her "pathetic" and "embarrassing" in an impassioned take-down, moaning: "When she did Holiday, she was the best popstar in the world. No question.

"Now it’s just pathetic watching Madonna now. Pathetic. Everybody finds her pathetic and now we’re having a biopic."

Piers continued: "She’s 62 now going on 20. The act doesn’t work. It’s embarrassing.

"She doesn’t know how to age gracefully. She’s trying to act the age of her boyfriends. I think the latest one’s about – what is he, 18? They’re always older than her kids, I know that."

He has also branded her a "self-indulgent twerp", and an "attention seeker" in the past.
