Rebekah Vardy addresses 'tough' Coleen Rooney court battle

Rebekah Vardy has addressed her legal battle with Coleen Rooney, saying that she’s finding the process ‘really tough’.

The 38-year-old issued court proceedings against Coleen, 34, for defamation, after the WAG accused Rebekah’s Instagram account of leaking false stories to the press.

Joining Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on today’s Good Morning Britain to reveal she’s joined the Dancing On Ice 2021 line-up, Rebekah revealed she’ll do ‘whatever it takes to clear her name’ when pressed on the case.

‘We tried to sort things out amicably, it just didn’t work,’ she shared. ‘I understand people think it’s ridiculous but what was I meant to do? I need to clear my name.

‘I want to clear my name and I will do whatever it takes and I hope that it will be resolved soon.

‘It’s just one of the things that has to go through the process unfortunately now.’

‘How tough have you found it personally?’ Piers asked.

Rebekah replied: ‘I find it really tough, but to be fair Piers in comparison to what some people have gone through with Covid and things like that, it’s incomparable.’

Coleen and Rebekah became engulfed in the WAGatha Christie controversy after Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen accused Rebekah of selling false stories to the press.

Coleen had constructed an elaborate plan of sharing lies on her private Instagram account and setting it up so allegedly only Rebekah could see them.

Three words (it’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account) instantly went viral and the hashtag #WAGathaChristie was born.

Rebekah has vehemently denied Coleen’s accusations and insisted someone else had access to her Instagram account.

The WAG is the latest celebrity to have signed up to Dancing On Ice 2021.

Discussing why she agreed to appear on the programme, Rebekah grinned: ‘I think I just want everyone to laugh at me really. I’m really excited actually.’

Asked what her husband Jamie Vardy thinks about her place in the competition, she added: ‘He’s really looking forward to watching me.’

Rebekah joins an incredible bill of names so far, including Myleene Klass, Olympians Graham Bell, Colin Jackson CBE, Joe-Warren Plant, Denise van Outen, Faye Brookes, Jason Donovan, and Capital FM DJ Sonny Jay.

Dancing On Ice returns in January 2021 on ITV.
