'RHONJ': Why Joe Giudice's Deportation Reportedly Has Been Postponed

Joe Giudice known from appearing on Real Housewives of New Jersey with his wife, Teresa and their kids has been ordered to be deported to Italy. However, his case has been postponed. Find out why and what his family is doing to try to keep him in America.

Joe Giudice served time for bank and bankruptcy fraud, which led to immigration taking him to court

The husband served 41 months in prison for bank and bankruptcy fraud. It was then revealed that he isn’t an American citizen.

Giudice was born in Saronno, Italy then his parents moved to New Jersey in the ’70s when he was one year old. He never got citizenship so U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) started proceedings while he was in prison to possibly get him deported.

In the end, he was ordered to be deported. He was released from prison, but remained in the custody of ICE ahead of his court date to appeal the decision.

His daughters created a petition to get President Trump to intervene

Daughters Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana came together to create a petition calling for President Trump to help their father in his case. Teresa Giudice previously appeared on The Apprentice Season 12.

Milana posted an old picture of herself with her dad on Instagram. She wrote in the caption, “we will never stop fighting for you daddy. It’s not the same without you. I miss you terribly. I wouldn’t be the person I am today with out you, I wouldn’t know how to stay strong. I need you home daddy. All I want is to be a family again. I love you endlessy buddy.”

Gia created her own post with the caption, “WE need EVERYONES HELP PLEASE REPOST ! How could we live and support a nation that Allows sex offenders and pedophiles to stay in the United States as long as we register them to a list knowing they could live next-door and harm again, yet they could take a man who committed a minor crime to support his family away from his family it makes me want to leave this country.”

It has been delayed to look over his appeal

Giudice tried to fight the decision of his deportation through an appeal, but it was denied. His attorney, James J. Leonard Jr. gave a statement in response.

“We are extremely disappointed that the Board of Immigration Appeals has denied Mr. Giudice’s appeal,” said the attorney according to CNN. “We have filed a stay with the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and will continue to fight to keep Mr. Giudice in the United States, the only country he knows, and reunite him with his wife and four daughters.”

The Blast reports that the reason his deportation was delayed was in order to get more time. Court documents reportedly claim the court needs time to look over his appeal and the motion to delay his removal has been “temporarily granted.”

Giudice will be allowed to stay in the country until a final decision has been made regarding his new appeal.
