Rita Ora jets out of the country for the rest of the year after Covid shame

RITA Ora has jetted out of the country for the rest of the year following her Covid-19 embarrassment.

I’ve learned the Hot Right Now singer has flown to Bulgaria to shoot a music video, ahead of her return with a new single in the coming months.

She was blasted last month for breaking lockdown rules by throwing a 30th birthday party, and it was later revealed she was also meant to be quarantining, having recently returned from a trip to Egypt.

But now she is hoping to lay low until the New Year, meaning she won’t return home to London for Christmas and will instead go on holiday as soon as her shoot in Bulgaria ends this week.

A source close to the singer said: “Rita has beaten herself up about her mistakes but has thrown herself back into work to take her mind off things.

“She spent most of this year working on her music and is now hoping to return with new tracks in early 2021, with the video to one single being filmed at the moment in Bulgaria.

“She doesn’t want to be in London right now so has booked a relaxing holiday over Christmas and New Year in the hope she can start afresh in January. Taking some time out to reflect on everything that has happened is very important to her right now.”

In her Covid apology a fortnight ago, Rita said: “I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and understand that this puts people at risk. This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgment.”

Rita has scored four No1 singles during her nine years as one of our brightest pop stars.

She went back to the drawing board to write tracks for her upcoming third album in a home studio with the help of model and singer Josephine De La Baume — ex-wife of Mark Ronson.

The release will be the follow-up to 2018’s Phoenix, which spawned hits including Let You Love Me, Your Song and For You with Liam Payne.

Getting new music out there should give Rita the opportunity to turn over a new leaf.

I’m looking forward to seeing her back doing what she does best.

Grape minds, Post

AMERICAN rapper Post Malone is following the lead of Kylie Minogue by launching his own wine range.

His French rosé, Maison No 9, will go on sale in the UK through the brand’s website at midday on Thursday and is expected to be a quick sellout, ahead of a nationwide release next year.

The singer, real name Austin Post, said: “Rosé is for when you want to get a little fancy. It’s a nice switch up and I have been thinking about doing my own wine for a while.”

Given his second album was called Beerbongs & Bentleys, I didn’t have him down as a wine aficionado but stranger things have happened this year.

Ezra’s cheer

EVEN after two hit albums and a Brit award, George Ezra is still pinching himself over his success.

Speaking about new music he’s working on, he said: “I feel like one of the luckiest people alive. Even last week I was recording some vocals. Then I thought to myself, ‘F**king hell George. You’re doing it, this is your dream.

He added in a chat with singer pal Ollie MN for their Phone A Friend podcast: “I really love what I’m recording and I can’t wait to rock out with my friends far and wide when the time comes.”

Jac Xmas Carol Jossa the job

EVERYONE knew Jacqueline Jossa could act from her stint on EastEnders but her West End debut proves she has a cracking voice too.

In a musical take on A Christmas Carol at the capital’s Dominion Theatre, she plays characters including a beggar, pictured here, Scrooge’s love interest Emily in flashbacks and the Ghost of Christmas Future. And she does it all with ease alongside the seasoned stage pros. Brian Conley is great as miserly Scrooge while Matt Willis is Bob Cratchit.

A sizeable cast on stage for a socially distanced production feels like a touching end to this difficult year, when almost all stage shows have been forced to close.

The show was due to run until January 2 but sadly it will now be shelved due to London entering tier three. Bah, humbug!

Nevertheless, judging by this performance, Jacqueline will have plenty of offers when theatres reopen.

Gary’s Sun-thing special

GARY Barlow fans, I have an extra-special treat for you.

The Take That star has recorded an exclusive concert especially for readers of The Sun which will debut on our website this Saturday.

I’ve already been treated to a viewing of it and it’s an absolute blast. As well as a tune from his No1 album Music Played By Humans, he performs Take That numbers and something to get everyone in the Christmas mood.

I’ll be revealing more about the one-off show this week, but I can tell you now, it will certainly have you feeling festive.

DEMI Lovato has confirmed my story that she will release a YouTube docu-series next year, along with her first album since 2017’s Tell Me You Love Me.

The singer, who will open up about her 2018 overdose, said of her upcoming record: “I’m really excited to release all this new music.”

Tina’s Strictly solo in Private Dance shoot

TINA Barrett is hoping to follow her former S Club 7 bandmate Rachel Stevens on to the Strictly dancefloor.

Tina has just released her solo single Private Dance Instructor and hopes her moves in the video, out this Friday, will bag her a place on the show that Rachel was a finalist on in 2008.

In an exclusive chat, Tina said of the promo: “We shot it in lockdown so it’s just me in a dance studio doing choreography. It’s very Flashdance.”

She continued: “I love Strictly and I’d like to do it. I haven’t been asked to, so if anyone at Strictly is reading, please let me go on.

“It would be amazing. I am a bit of a glitterball girl.”

After five years of hits such as Reach, S Club 7 split in 2003, briefly reuniting in 2014.

Of her decision to come back with solo tunes, Tina said: “I was going to wait until next year because this year has been so weird. But I want to try to lift people’s spirits and get everyone up dancing.

“It shows a different side to me because my background is in dance.”
