Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) was left completely gobsmacked after Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) got down on one knee and proposed to her at the reopening of the gym in EastEnders.
Humiliated, Sharon confronted him about why he thought it was a good idea, and learnt that he was inspired by a conversation with Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf).
This revelation went down like a lead balloon, and things only got worse when Keanu revealed that he hadn’t even bought a new ring, and had instead used the one he proposed to Louise with.
Furious Sharon demanded Keanu get out, before breaking down and revealing that she was terrified of getting hurt again.
After sharing a kiss, Keanu agreed to give her some space, but begged her to consider his proposal.
She was soon forced to confront the issue during a visit from Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), who drove it home to Sharon that she was the only one who could make the decision over her future with Keanu.
Later on, she came face to face with Sam, and decided to give her what for for meddling in her love life.
Devastated Sam insisted that she was only trying to help, before drunkenly revealing how lonely she was.
Sharon was left feeling bad and apologised for being so cruel to her, though Sam insisted that the only thing she had to be sorry for was letting someone who loved her so much slip away.
It was this that seemingly cemented Sharon’s decision of how to move forward with Keanu.
She finally decided once and for all that she couldn’t marry him, as she barely knew him.
However, she admitted that she still wanted to get to know him, and maybe one day her feelings about marrying him would change.
As Keanu and Sharon’s relationship is reignited, how long will it last?
