She’s been unlucky in love before but it now seems Eileen Grimshaw’s (Sue Cleaver) latest love interest Jan Lozinski (Piotr Baumann) could be one of the good guys. But with the human trafficking storyline that Jan is connected to set to come to an end, are we about to say goodbye to Eileen as well as Jan?
Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) has discovered his love interest Alina (Ruxandra Porojnicu) is involved in human trafficking and also recently discovered that Jan has some sort of connection with it. We saw Jan get arrested after telling Eileen he never cared for her and Eileen told Abi (Sally Carman) that Jan was part of the trafficking ring. Later, we learnt that he had actually been working as an undercover police officer but he must never contact Eileen again and be provided with a new identity.
An excited Seb tells Eileen that Alina is coming round to see him, but when Eileen asks if she has heard anything about Jan, Moira (Louiza Patikas) and Liz (Beverly Callard) realise that she is still missing him and take her to the pub. Paul (Peter Ash) warns Eileen that trafficking gangs are dangerous and she should watch her back.
Jan tells Eileen that he loves her and wants her to move away with him to Amsterdam. Paula (Stirling Gallacher) confirms Jan’s story that he was a police informant and he must love her very much to risk coming back to Weatherfield to see her. Eileen confides in Seb that Jan was working undercover and he’s asked her to move away with him, leaving Seb shocked.
Jan reveals his intentions to lie low in Birmingham until after the court case and urges Eileen to come with him. Eileen is left torn.
She’s finally found a man that loves her and well, isn’t a serial killer – but can Eileen say goodbye to her life in Weatherfield for a new life with an undercover police officer?
