Sid Owen refuses to be filmed on Loose Women as he reunites with Patsy Palmer

EastEnders icon Sid Owen was reunited with his on-screen wife Patsy Palmer on Loose Women during Friday's instalment of the ITV daytime show.

While Bianca Jackson actress Patsy appeared via a video link from her swish Malibu home, Sid told the Loose ladies that he is not comfortable with his face being on camera following his accident.

Sid suffered a horror golf accident in Thailand that left him with a fractured jaw earlier this year.

The Ricky Butcher actor told the panel: "I am having problems with my teeth at the moment since my accident.

"Due to coronavirus I haven't been able to get to the dentist.

"It has knocked my confidence."

Kaye Adams, Stacey Solomon, Judi Love and Nadia Sawalha rushed to send their love to Sid and the famous foursome continued to grill the soap icons about their EastEnders heyday.

Patsy, who was 21 when she joined the cast of the BBC soap, said: "I have never laughed as much as I did working with Sid. There was nothing like it."

"We used to get sent to the office. I was 21 so I should have known better.

"We'd get sent out of the studio and told to go for a walk."

Sid added: ""I joined 1988 and I just came out of school and luckily I got the job.

"1500 episodes and greatest fondest memories are with Patsy. We had so much fun.

Stacey, 30, couldn't wait to ask the pair if there were plans for them to return to EastEnders in the near future.

The former X Factor star said: "I'd love to see you both back on the telly. Would you ever go back?"

Patsy responded: ""I'd like to work with Sid again.

"I was there before lockdown to film something but I was sent home due to coronavirus so I don't know what is happening with that now."

"Are they even filming?"

"Yes, they are back filming," Sid quipped before adding, "I'd love to work with Patsy again."

Sid was on a detox holiday in Thailand when a golf ball shattered his jaw and sent several of his teeth flying.

He told The Sun back in February: "One minute I’m playing a round and the next I’m in total agony and on my way to hospital.

“But actually I’ve almost been lucky because they’ve told me if it had hit me two inches higher up I’d probably be dead from that sort of impact.”

Sid he was forced to undergo emergency reconstructive surgery earlier this year.
