Gary Windass (Mikey North) has got a taste of everything going his own way these days and the ruthless Coronation Street local is often prepared to take drastic action when he sets his sights on something. And when someone gets in the way, they should be very afraid.
Ali Neeson (James Burrows) is the latest obstacle who could get Windassed. Gary has decided that he’d quite like a relationship with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) thank you very much, but her residual feelings for Ali are causing him a bit of discomfort.
Seeing Ali as a threat, Gary has done some digging and discovered his reliance on painkillers – and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) has been quick to warn his brother to take threats from Gary seriously. After all, having been victim to a vicious beating from the loan shark, Ryan should know.
However, Ali isn’t going to just let Gary walk all over him and seems prepared to take him on.
As he heads to the furniture shop to have it out with Gary, he discoveres the ledger and realises that Gary has been operating as a loan shark. As Gary later comes face to face with him, Ali stands up to him and threatens to expose his dodgy dealings to Maria.
But is he playing with fire by making threats to Gary, who has been responsible for more than one death either directly or indirectly? Could Ali find himself becoming the next victim of the villain?
It remains to be seen how Gary takes Ali’s warning but in fairness to him, he brings as much life to the world as he takes away. Maria will soon discover she is pregnant with Gary’s third Corrie baby but she seems to be less than happy with the news.
Is she starting to realise that being involved with him is a bad idea?
Coronation Street continues on Friday 8 November at 7:30pm on ITV.
