Spoilers: Mitch confronts Gray in EastEnders after making a shocking discovery

Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) has found it difficult to get along with son-in-law Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) in EastEnders, but during tonight’s episode he makes a shocking discovery — and it’s one that leads him to believe he was right in distrusting Gray, as he comes to believe he’s having an affair — and thus quizzes him on the subject.

Gray has struggled under the pressure over the last couple weeks, as he took on Whitney’s (Shona McGarty) case, all the while continuing to represent Kush (Davood Ghadami) — not to mention all the other cases he was no doubt working on as well.

Much like he always does, the solicitor took his frustrations out on wife Chantelle (Jessica Plummer), and he later lost his job when he was unable to get Whitney bail.

Mitch has long had his doubts about Gray, but tonight he’s given reason to believe that he may have been right to distrust him, as — while enjoying a drink in The Vic with Mick (Danny Dyer), Isaac (Steve Basula), Jack (Scott Maslen) and Patrick (Rudolph Walker) — he learns from Jack that Gray was at a hotel.

Mitch is left intrigued and, with all sorts going round in his head, he confronts Gray and quizzes him on the matter — something which leaves Gray furious.

Chantelle is quick to calm him down, but little does he know that Mitch is continuing to think about their altercation, and therefore he confides in Karen (Lorraine Stanley) — revealing that he believes Gray is having an affair.

Karen refuses to believe such a thing, but Mitch becomes hellbent on discovering the truth.

Will Mitch perhaps discover that the solicitor is abusing Chantelle?

What’s more, will Gray discover that Mitch is suspicious of him?

EastEnders continues Thursday 12 March at 7:30pm on BBC One.
