Could Rey be about to turn to the Dark Side of the Force?
This is the question we have been left with as Lucasfilm has released the Star Wars "legacy" footage that was shown to fans at the 2019 D23 Expo over the weekend.
In addition to another look at our heroes including Finn ( John Boyega ) and Poe Dameron ( Oscar Isaac ) in The Rise of Skywalker, we also see a shot of Rey ( Daisy Ridley ) with a double-edged red lightsaber akin to prequel trilogy villain Darth Maul and also dressed in black robes.
Has Rey really turned to the Sith?
We know that evil classic trilogy villain Emperor Palpatine ( Ian McDiarmid ) will be back for the final instalment of the Skywalker saga, so could he be the one to turn Rey to the Dark Side?
In The Last Jedi, Rey was convinced that when the time came that user of the Dark Side of the Force and Skywalker heir Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) would turn to the Light, but he was equally convinced that she could turn to the Dark when the time came.
Could the two "connected" warriors be about to switch sides in the upcoming war?
The trailer also shows off some shots of a returning Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) and the rest of our cast of heroes, including newbie Jannah (Naomi Ackie) in the Millennium Falcon.
