Steve McDonald dies in Corrie knife attack horror?

Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is about to face a major fight for his life as Coronation Street has revealed the first official look at the dangerous armed robbery storyline which could see the cabbie die at the hands of an armed passenger. Is this the end of everyone’s favourite bumbling local?

Pictures revealed earlier this year showed Steve collect a passenger who then goes on to rob a shop, with Steve left caught in the crossfire. But will it be the last ride of his life?

New pictures unveiled on the Coronation Street official page have shown Steve begging the robber for his life. But will the villain listen or is Tracy (Kate Ford) set to become a widow in a tragic turn of events?

Captions included alongside the teaser pictures read: ‘Tim introduces Steve to a computer whizz who can design them an App for StreetCars. Can they afford it? Later, Steve picks up a young lad who flags him down offering to pay a hefty fare. But when things take a turn for the worse, will Steve escape unscathed?’

It remains to be seen what fate lies in store for Steve but let’s hope that Corrie aren’t losing another prominent cast member in the wake of announced exits of Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt), Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Faye Brookes (Kate Connor), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston) and Katie McGlynn (Sinead Tinker).

Kym recently poured cold water on rumours that there is a crisis at the show as she said: ‘Whichever actors are involved in it, Coronation Street will continue to be a big, brilliant show. There’s no “crisis”. It’s just natural that a show like Corrie will have comings and goings – just like you would on any real-life street in the UK!

‘I personally can’t wait to see which new faces might be turning up on the cobbles.’
