Teen Mom Mackenzie Mckee says she 'quit all her medications' when she moved after suffering depression over mom's death

TEEN Mom Mackenzie Mckee revealed that she "quit all her medications" ahead of her move to Florida following her mother's death.

The TV star's mother, Angie Douthit tragically passed away in December 2019 after a battle with brain cancer.

Mackenzie reflected on her emotional recovery after losing her mother during an Instagram Q&A with fans.

When one user asked her how she handled the big move with her kids from Oklahoma to Florida, Mackenzie admitted how seamless the transition was.

"Easiest thing I ever did," she responded.

"I quit all my meds. Packed in a tub, drove, and healed."

The 26-year-old recently confessed that she "crawled out of a very dark scary place mentally" after she relocated.

She elaborated in a tweet writing: "Florida has helped me heal, see more, thrive, and crawl out of a very dark scary place mentally. The sunny state has my heart."

Since her mom's death, the MTV star has struggled with depression and previously even admitted she contemplated suicide.

The star relocated to Miami initially without her husband, Josh, but with their three children, but eventually Josh joined the family in the sunshine state.

The longtime couple are parents to Gannon, eight, Jaxie, six, and Bronx, three.

Shortly after the move, the TV personality reunited with her family for a sweet portrait.

She shared the photo, mourning her mother's absence admitting that she "can't get drunk enough" to numb the pain.

She told how Angie's death "hurt so bad" and "gets harder every single day" in an emotional segment on Teen Mom OG.

Yet the Body By Mac founder appears to have turned a corner almost 18 months after the tragedy, as she posed for a family portrait alongside her father and siblings.

Her dad Brad took center stage wearing a black T-Shirt with the message "#alwaysbekind."

The reality TV star's brother Zeke wore a red vest top as he gave the mom of three a big cuddle.

As Mackenzie beamed into the shot, she held one arm of her father while her sisters, Whitney and Kaylee, were on the far right of the shot.

The Florida native added the sweet caption: "I just know momma @angiedouthit is smiling so big. #dad #siblings #bodybymac #photoshoot #family #alwaysbekind."

The Oklahoma native previously expressed her grief to her Teen Mom fans about how she was coping with the family tragedy.

On the show, she said: “Losing my mom is one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through in my life.

“We’ll [all] be fine. Then something small will remind us …

"The last person I got my toenails done with was my mom. That’s what we always did together and everyone says that it gets easier, and it just seems to be getting harder every single day.”
