Viewers tuned into a tense episode of The Bachelor on Jan. 18, seeing many of the contestants confronting Sarah Trott for “stealing time” on a group date she wasn’t part of. One of the contestants who was most vocal toward Sarah was “Queen” Victoria Larson, who has been quite opinionated throughout the season thus far. While the show aired, Trott took to her Instagram account to speak up on her own thoughts from the episode, which fans thought might have been Trott shading Larson in her caption. So did Sarah Trott shade Victoria Larson?
Read on to find out.
What the drama between Sarah Trott and ‘Queen’ Victoria Larson was
After getting a one-on-one date with James in the last episode of The Bachelor, Trott joined the “live audience” of the group date on the Jan. 18 episode of the show. She listened as other contestants read stories they wrote about getting intimate with the lead, which made Trott uncomfortable and jealous.
She addressed her concern with James, interrupting some private time between James and another contestant, Katie Thurston. When the women on the group date found out that Trott had come to the group date she was not a part of and “stole time,” they didn’t appreciate it at all.
The next day, Trott confronted the women to apologize and tell them she was actually thinking about going home, which prompted Larson to interrupt Trott multiple times. The women argued that because Trott “stole time” on a group date she wasn’t part of, they weren’t able to further their relationships with James, while Trott had already been on a one-on-one date with the lead.
“You’re monopolizing,” Larson said. “This is not ‘The Sarah Show.’” Later on, Larson continued, after Trott said she wanted to “make amends” with the women: “Why do you think that we want to make amends with you?”
In an in-the-moment interview with producers, Larson added: “She was just trying to placate the situation and I’m like, ‘You’re such a calculating little b*tch. If Matt sends her home, I will want to f*ck him because I’ll just be like, that is so hot that he can see through her bullsh*t.”
Larson then said to Trott in front of the group that she would not accept Trott’s apology, even if she apologized “20 more times.”
What Sarah Trott said on Instagram
Trott addressed the situation in an Instagram post on Jan. 18. She shared a photo that simply said: “Real queens fix each other’s crowns,” which made fans think she was replying to Larson who calls herself “Queen.”
Trott wrote a lengthy caption alongside the photo.
“We see the quote ‘women supporting women’ all the time on the internet but what does that really mean,” Trott began her caption. “To me, it means sharing encouragement instead of judgment. Refraining from negative comments even when it’s sometimes easier to say something mean instead of something nice.”
Fans thought that Trott was addressing what the other contestants said to and about her on the show the previous night.
“It means valuing community over competition,” she continued, possibly speaking about the competitive aspect of The Bachelor. “It does not mean you have to pretend to like everyone always. That’s impossible. But it does mean being a good person, keeping your head up and refraining from degrading another human being.”
She then spoke to the difficulties she was facing during the filming of the show — Trott spoke about her father’s battle against a terminal illness with James and fellow contestant Thurston, who came forward about losing her father on the Jan. 18 episode.
“You never know the internal battles another person is going through,” Trott said. “At the end of the day, please just be a decent, kind individual.”
Why people think Sarah Trott could be shading Victoria Larson
Fans put together that Trott could’ve been speaking about all of the comments Larson made about her on-screen and off-screen on the Jan. 18 episode. Furthermore, the picture itself reference queens and crowns, which have both been ways that Larson has identified and branded herself on the show.
Viewers remain in the dark on whether or not Trott did actually eliminate herself after speaking with James, but it appears that regardless of Trott’s status on the show, she will continue to speak up for herself.
