Emmanuel Acho joins as the ABC show is in the middle of controversy

Acho has recently been known for his book and videos called “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man.” The former NFL player takes on racial questions that people are afraid to ask in public. Harrison stepped of The Bachelor after an interview with Rachel Lindsay where he tried to justify Rachel Kirkconnell.

Kirkconnell is one of the participants of the current season of The Bachelor to have been uncovered to have some problematic issues with race. Photos of her attending an event at a plantation surfaced that have drawn a lot of backlash. Lindsay tried to explain to Harrison why this was not good but the latter pushed back.

“We all need to have a little grace, a little understanding, a little compassion. Because I have seen some stuff online — this judge, jury, executioner thing where people are just tearing this girl’s life apart and diving into, like, her parents, her parents’ voting record,” Harrison said on Extra. “I haven’t heard Rachael speak on this yet. Until I actually hear this woman have a chance to speak, who am I to say any of this?”

After the video went viral, fans of The Bachelor gave Harrison a lot of flack for his comments. Days later he announced he was take time off the show but ABC has not announced what the future of the franchise will look like.
