The Chase fans were surprised when they tuned into the latest instalment of the ITV quiz show as they spotted an uncanny lookalike.

Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants; Kevin, Lindsey, Tracey and James into the studio on Friday (May 12) who went head-to-head with Shaun Wallace in a bid to take home some cash.

First up to face the dark destroyer was Kevin, who immediately caught the attention of fans as they felt he bared a striking resemblance to I'm A Celebrity… South Africa star Shaun Ryder.

Sharing their thoughts on social media, one fan wrote: "Bloody hell it's Shaun Ryder!"

    "Shaun Ryder vs. Shaun Wallace… it’s a Shaun-off! #TheChase," added a second person.

Another shared: "Shaun Ryder on the chase I see… #TheChase," as a fourth exclaimed: "Holy s**t, it’s Shaun Ryder! #TheChase."

Someone else penned: "It’s a Shaun on Shaun head to head. Shaunception," while a sixth simply wrote: "Shaun Ryder #TheChase.

First up was Kevin who got off to a great start, raising £7,000 in the cash builder round.

Afterwards, the 62-year-old asked Kevin how much money he thought he'd earned.

Getting slightly ahead of himself, the 49-year-old archaeologist responded: "£9,000?" before Bradley gave him a rude awakening.

"Don't be ridiculous, Kevin!" exclaimed the former Coronation Street actor, adding: "I mean, you're good but that's optimistic."
