The Chase viewers were fuming tonight after a contestant was allowed to change her mind after choosing the middle offer.
Linda, a retired team leader, only managed to get £2,000 in the opening cash builder.
The 62-year-old was given the choice between the low offer of £1,000, sticking with £2,000, or go for the big money at £20,000.
However, there were stunned faces in the studio when Linda chose the middle offer, despite it being so close to the low one.
The baffled Chaser, Mark Labbett, slapped his face with his hand in disbelief.
The Beast said: "I can’t believe you’re even looking looking at the £2,000. Play it safe and go for the one grand or go for the £2,000."
Echoing his words, Bradley Walsh said: "In the grand scheme of things with four in the final it’s a loss of £250 each."
They managed to convince Linda to switch to the low offer of £1,000 – giving her one step less to get back home.
Messing around, presenter Brad joked: "I can’t believe you’ve done that. What a joke."
The Chaser said: "If I was playing I would have taken that grand in a heartbeat."
Brad added: "Absolutely the right decision."
It proved to be a good decision as Linda got back home with ease,
Bradley said: "You could have gone for it but what was the point?"
All four of the team got back and they beat the Chaser to win a share of £46,000.
Angry The Chase viewers took to Twitter to slam Linda for taking the low offer.
One viewer said: "What’s going on can she change her mind after making decision"
Another asked: "Kind of defeats the object of the show that doesn’t it?"
A third said: "When people take the low/minus offers then have the nerve to tell others to go high"
*The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
