Tipping Point took a savage turn when one brave player made a risky joke about a fellow contestant's age.

The hit ITV quiz show has seen tons of iconic moments over the years, from epic question blunders to host Ben Shephard's X-rated quips.

But Friday's show (December 29) saw a contestant roast his fellow quiz hopeful about his age in front of the nation.

Tipping Point has just returned with a batch of new episodes after airing celebrity specials and repeats over the Christmas period.

But things could have gotten heated in the studio when contestant Raj joked that his rival player Hugh was decades past his prime.

Raj was asked the question: "In 1984, which band had the UK Number 1 and 2 singles at the same time with 'Two Tribes' and 'Relax'?"

Raj said: "I don't actually know," before explaining he "wasn't born that year".

He passed the question over to Hugh but added: "I really feel like he [Hugh] does know it because he was probably in his prime."

Ben burst out laughing, and luckily Hugh saw the funny side of it as he giggled at the quip himself.

But he was quick to hit back, jokingly claiming: "I still am!"

Ben asked Hugh: "Were you still in your prime in 1984?", prompting Hugh to reply: "I was, actually."

It's just as well he was as he correctly answered 'Frankie Goes To Hollywood'.

Hugh got the better of Raj in the end as Raj was knocked out on £1000 before the final with Hugh sitting on £2400.

Things got even better for him when he managed to bag the jackpot counter, meaning he walked away with a whopping £10,000 to enjoy as well as a mystery prize gift of tickets to a picnic concert.
