Alastair Campbell appeared as a host on Good Morning Britain for the first time today and Susanna Reid wasted no time in grilling the former official spokesman of Tony Blair on the Labour Party’s recent struggles in local elections. “It’s not the perfect week,” Campbell remarked and Reid continued: “Because we’re asking today, what is the point of the Labour Party?”

“That is why it’s not a perfect week,” Campbell hit back and his co-host added: “Is this the end?”
