72-year-old man fatally struck by two cars in the Bronx

An elderly Bronx man was killed Tuesday evening when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver — and then dragged along the road by a second motorist, according to cops.

Sidney Sele, 72, was crossing East 211th Street, inside the marked crosswalk, in Williamsbridge around 5:40 p.m. when the driver of a white four-door sedan made a left turn from southbound Paulding Avenue — striking Sele and knocking him to the ground, police said.

The driver did not stop, and fled east on East 211th Street, according to cops.

While Sele was lying in the street, a 75-year-old driver making the same left turn in a 2010 Mercedes Benz sedan slammed into him and dragged him along the street, cops said. That driver remained on the scene.

Responding officers found Sele, who lives only about a block from the crash site, lying on the ground with trauma to his body.

He was rushed to the Wakefield campus of Montefiore Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The hit-and-run driver was still at large Wednesday morning.
