Bikers join 500 mourners at funeral for TV doc star, 21, killed in Newport crash with two friends | The Sun

BIKERS have joined 500 mourners at a funeral for a 21-year-old TV doc star who was killed in a Newport crash with two other friends.

Eve Smith was tragically found dead next to pals Rafel Jeanne, 24, and Darcy Ross, 21, in Wales, at the start of March.

The group had been on a night out before the white VW Tiguan they were travelling in crashed off the A48.

Sophie Russon, 20, and Shane Loughlin, 32, were also in the car but survived the horror smash.

And today, the heartbroken family of beautician Eve have said their goodbyes.

A horse drawn carriage made its way through Newport, south Wales, carrying her coffin.

It was followed by a convoy of motorcyclists from the Valley Commandoes as hundreds of people lined the streets to pay their respects.

Pink and white flowers were chosen to remember the young girl as those attending the funeral at St Woolo's Cathedran wore black with hints of baby pink.

In a heartfelt note sat on Eve's coffin her mum and dad wrote: "Our beautiful baby Eve. Love always your broken hearted mum and dad xx."

Eve's sister Sherridan paid tribute to her "beautiful little sister" as she was laid to rest.

She said: "Eve, My beautiful little sister I've cried laughed and fought with you every week, but I've never been without you.

“We always said, 'I got you always', but now I'm sat here feeling so empty because you're not here with me anymore, and I can't accept this.

"There is no sister like you, you always made me feel so important, sending me messages to remind me how much you love me and I'd tell you just how much I loved you more!

“You saved me from so much Eve all the times I've been low it was you that I'd turn to, and now I'm feeling heavy because I couldn't save you.

“I loved seeing you grow into this beautiful young woman and you used to get so worried that we wouldn't be close as you grew up, but I'd remind you that sisters don't ever break a bond and ours well there isn't, no bond like ours my girl you'll always be my baby sister."

It comes just eight years after Eve's other sister Xana Doyle was killed in a smash in 2018.

Eve had taken part in a Sky TV doc at the time as her family called for tougher sentencing on drivers getting behind the wheel over the limit.

Xana, 19, had been getting a lift home from Sakhawat Ali, then 23, who was high on cocaine and cannabis and twice the drink-drive limit.

He was released after serving five years in prison.

Sherridan added: "I know you're safe up there with our beautiful sister Xana but I was never ready to let you go, my body is aching without you, please watch over me."

Eve's dad Everton Smith previously said: "It's going to change my life, I don't know how much it will.

"Nothing will be the same. I just need her here to get me through this. This is an impossible situation."

An inquest heard Rafel, Darcy, and Eve were identified by their mums following the tragedy.
