Body of man in his 40s or 50s found at Cornish beauty spot

THE body of a man in his 40s or 50s has been found on a beach in Cornwall.

Police said emergency services were called to Perranporth beach at 8.30am today to reports of a body.

A Coastguard spokesman said: “Rescue helicopter 924, Cornwall Air Ambulance, Newquay Lifeboat and the Police were all on scene within minutes; however sadly the casualty was not able to be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene."

Teams also searched the scene for other casualties.

The body has been recovered from the beach, Cornwall Live reports.
