A duo with “missing teeth” callously tossed six dogs out the window of a moving car in Michigan — killing all but one of the pooches, authorities said.
Witnesses told police Tuesday that the doomed dogs were thrown from the passenger-side window of a silver Honda Odyssey minivan in Wayland Township around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
Five of the dogs died at the scene, but one — since named Lucky LuLu — survived, cops said in a statement.
The witnesses, who were driving in the opposite direction, went back to pick up the pooches and brought them home — burying the five who died, local station WOOD-TV reported.
They brought LuLu to a local pet groomer, who also runs a rescue, and convinced them to call the police, according to the report.
“I can’t speak to why they chose to wait so long, but they are cooperating now,” Allegan County Undersheriff Mike Larsen told the station, adding that investigators are still trying to verify the witnesses’ account.
Police describe both the male driver and female passenger of the minivan as in their 20s or 30s, very skinny, with missing teeth. The woman had blonde hair and the man had darker, “big curly hair.”
Both suspects could face felony animal cruelty charges, Larsen told the local station.
