Huronia West OPP investigating after shooting reported in Wasaga Beach

Huronia West OPP are on the lookout for a pickup truck in connection with a shooting investigation in Wasaga Beach.

Police say the incident occurred on Feb. 10 at around 2 a.m., in the Wesley Road and River Road area.

A 30-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound, police say, adding that he was then transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers believe this was an isolated incident and do not believe there is a concern for public safety.

According to police, officers are now searching for a white Chevrolet pickup truck that was possibly involved in the incident.

Police say the truck has several distinguishing features including a black back rack that doesn’t span the entire rear of the cab, aftermarket trim over all four side windows of the cab, a bush bar around the front plate area and a cab-and-a-half design with only two full-size doors.

Officers say the truck has black mirrors, black rims, a bug deflector on the hood, a trailer hitch and black rocker panel paint.

The investigation is ongoing, police say. Anyone with information is asked to contact OPP at 705-429-3575 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
