Jayme Closs, missing Wisconsin girl whose parents were shot dead, found safe

A Wisconsin teenager who went missing after her parents were found shot to death inside their home was found safe on Thursday, police said.

Jayme Closs was located by police in the northwestern county of Douglas, Wisconsin, on Thursday evening, police officials said in a statement released on Facebook.

She has not been seen since October.

A person of interest was also taken into custody by police, authorities said, but it was not immediately clear if the suspect was wanted for the killing of Closs’ parents or her kidnapping.

Closs, 13, was reported missing on Oct. 15 after police responded to a 911 call at her home in Barron County and found her parents shot to death.

Since her disappearance, investigators pursued thousands of tips and reviewed dozens of surveillance videos.

Police were investigating whether Closs was abducted after her parents were killed, Fox News reported.
