Meghan McCain blasts The View for correcting her false Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti 'is going to jail' claim

MEGHAN McCain blasted one of The View’s producers live on air for daring to correct her false claim former Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti was “going to jail.”

She stunned her co-hosts and viewers when she let rip at after the unnamed TV exec displayed a legal notice pointing out her error.

She exploded as the ABC panel show discussed celebrity lawyer Avenatti, who famously represented porn star Stormy in her lawsuit against President Trump.

On Wednesday a federal judge revoked his bail and he's now being held on remand in California ahead of an imminent trial.

"There’s so many people that take a stop at the Trump White House, here, and then jail, it’s hard to remember,' McCain said on Thursday morning,

She then added: "And Avenatti's now going to jail. One of our co-hosts."

McCain was referring to the fact the under-fire legal expert used to be a Hot Topics guest on the hit show.

However, a panicked producer quickly displayed a legal notice for her to read out in the wake of her comment.

It was then McCain stormed: "Take off that legal note about Michael Avenatti.

"I'm not interested, and I don't think America is interested. Okay?"

McCain then touched her earpiece and mouthed something about the producer.

However, other panellists were quick to point out the correction should be made.

“Michael Avenatti plead not guilty,” Joy Behar quickly declared

While Sunny Hostin added, “He has plead not guilty so we don’t know if he’s going to jail for a very long time.”

"No, she has to do it," said Whoopi Goldberg, referring to the correction.

"Oh for God's sake," McCain then seethed.

On Thursday, we reported how  Meghan and Whoopi fought for the role of moderator when it came time to introduce guest Josh Gad.

The whole awkward onscreen battle is just the latest drama with the cast members of the ABC talk show.

It all started with just 15 minutes left of the broadcast.

The View returned from a commercial break with a close-up on Meghan, 35, as she started to introduce the upcoming guest.

She said: “The entire world knows Josh Gad as the voice of…oh!”

She stopped speaking once she realized Whoopi, 64, was talking over her, also reading the same introduction while off-camera.

Meghan yielded to Whoopi upon realizing she wasn’t going to stop, and the camera switched to focus on the 64-year-old actress.

The two incidents are just the latest controversies to rock the show, as co-host Abby Huntsman is set to leave reportedly due to the escalating tension between her and Meghan.

The daughter of the late Senator John McCain also recently had other clashes with Whoopi, including when the Sister Act star demanded the political analyst “stop talking now” after she kept speaking over Hostin.
