Mystery over 'sudden and unexplained' death of woman, 77, in flat as man, 76, arrested | The Sun

A PENSIONER has been arrested after a 77-year-old woman was found dead at a flat in posh Harrogate.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the home in North Yorkshire just before 3pm on Monday.

Tragically the elderly woman couldn't be saved with a police probe launched.

A 76-year-old man arrested in connection with the horror has since been released under investigation.

North Yorkshire Police said the woman's death is being treated as "sudden and unexplained".

They are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The force said: "Officers were called to a flat in Dene Park at 2.49pm on Monday (23 January 2023) where enquiries are still ongoing.

"A 76-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sudden death inquiry and released under investigation.

"At this stage, the cause of death remains unexplained."

Anyone with information can call police on 101 and select option 1 and speak to the Force Control Room.
