UK's Corbyn backs staying in EU customs union after Brexit

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has backed the UK being in a permanent customs union with the EU, marking a major policy shift on Brexit.

Britain’s main opposition party has announced a major policy shift on Brexit.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn says he now backs the UK staying in a permanent customs union with the European Union, saying it is necessary to protect trade and avoid a hard border with Ireland.
