{"id":142542,"date":"2023-08-29T16:40:46","date_gmt":"2023-08-29T16:40:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebritywshow.com\/?p=142542"},"modified":"2023-08-29T16:40:46","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T16:40:46","slug":"rugby-mad-teenage-girl-17-was-found-hanged-at-home-inquest-hears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebritywshow.com\/world-news\/rugby-mad-teenage-girl-17-was-found-hanged-at-home-inquest-hears\/","title":{"rendered":"Rugby-mad teenage girl, 17, was found hanged at home, inquest hears"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Rugby-mad teenage girl, 17 &#8211; whose mother was hugged by the Princess of Wales after she presented her with pair of earrings in her daughter&#8217;s memory &#8211; was found hanged at home, inquest hears<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For confidential support call Samaritans on 116123 or visit www.samaritans.org\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A rugby-mad teenage girl whose death inspired a gift to the Princess of Wales was found hanged at her home, an inquest heard today.<\/p>\n<p>Isobelle Phipps, 17, died suddenly at the family property in Crowthorne, Berkshire, on April 29, having struggled with depression.<\/p>\n<p>Weeks after the tragedy, her mother, Sarah Renton, shared an emotional moment with Kate, when she came to visit her daughter&#8217;s old rugby club in Maidenhead for a charity appeal.<\/p>\n<p>She gave the princess a hug, and told her about Isobelle, known as Issy, before giving her a pair of earrings made by a family friend.<\/p>\n<p>Kate insisted she would wear the jewellery at a later date in Issy&#8217;s memory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/29\/16\/74838079-12457467-image-a-39_1693321772478.jpg\" height=\"880\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Isobelle Phipps, 17, died suddenly at the family property in Crowthorne, Berkshire, on April 29, having struggled with depression<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/29\/16\/74838083-12457467-image-a-48_1693321826739.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Weeks after the tragedy, her mother, Sarah Renton, shared an emotional moment with Kate, when she came to visit her daughter&#8217;s old rugby club in Maidenhead for a charity appeal<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/29\/16\/74838081-12457467-image-a-49_1693321829666.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>She gave the princess a hug, and told her about Isobelle, known as Issy, before giving her a pair of earrings made by a family friend<\/p>\n<p>Berkshire coroner Heidi Connor told an inquest opening today that Issy&#8217;s body had been<span>\u00a0identified to police by her neighbour and a cause of death following a post-mortem examination by histo-pathologist Mathilda Ralph was given as suspension.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The circumstances surrounding Issy&#8217;s death are still under investigation by police and so a full inquest has not yet been scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>Issy, who was a talented rugby player, joined her local girls team at Maidenhead RFC in 2009 at the age of four years and first played in the under-six squad.<\/p>\n<p>She then went on to play for Reading RFC in 2012 before joining at county level and playing touch rugby for the England&#8217;s under-18s team in the European Championships in Vichy, France in 2022, where the team won gold medals.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of her death, Reading RFC paid tribute to her, saying: &#8216;Issy was rugby-mad and was always a lively member of the squad and will be truly missed.
