Louise Windsor, 19, heads on solo carriage ride around the grounds of Windsor Castle<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lady Louise Windsor has spent the weekend switching between a traditional horse and carriage and a sporty blue VW Polo.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh has frequently shown she&#8217;s an accomplished driver and was spotted in the grounds of the Windsor Royal Estate on Sunday enjoying a quick spin in her trusty VW.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wearing her blonde hair neatly pinned back, the teen looked comfortable behind the wheel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>Yesterday,\u00a0<\/span>Lady Louise<span>\u00a0spent time enjoying the hobby she shared with her late grandfather, <\/span>Prince Philip\u00a0&#8211; ahead of renewing her studies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The late Queen&#8217;s youngest granddaughter is currently studying at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, the alma matter of her cousin Prince William, and is likely to return to student accommodation in the coming weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/14\/75010473-12475695-image-a-17_1693746233162.jpg\" height=\"507\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Later this month, Lady Louise Windsor, the 19-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, will return to study at St Andrews University &#8211; but looked happy behind the wheel in Windsor on Sunday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/14\/75010479-12475695-image-a-19_1693746236726.jpg\" height=\"506\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The accomplished driver and was spotted in the grounds of the Windsor Royal Estate on Sunday enjoying a quick spin in her trusty VW &#8211; the royal wore her blonde hair neatly tied back<\/p>\n<p>A keen equestrian, she has competed in carriage-driving competitions throughout the year, and on Saturday she was dressed for the occasion in a long grey coat, with a blanket placed over her lap as she braced the early morning chill.<\/p>\n<p>She looked confident as she took the reigns while indulging in the hobby she shared with the Duke of Edinburgh, who was instrumental in helping to establish carriage driving as a sport in Britain.<\/p>\n<p>The daughter of the Queen&#8217;s youngest child Prince Edward, 59, inherited her love carriage driving from her grandfather, and is believed to have inherited his horses following his death.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/03\/14\/75010475-12475695-image-a-18_1693746235064.jpg\" height=\"507\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/02\/14\/74988865-12473179-image-a-63_1693660441869.jpg\" height=\"643\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Lady Louise Windsor took to the grounds of Windsor Castle on Saturday as she embarked on the hobby she shared with her late grandfather, Prince Philip<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that the late Duke of Edinburgh also taught her mother Sophie, 58, to drive a team of horses as the family shared a love of the animals.<\/p>\n<p>Following his retirement, Philip had more time to enjoy carriage-driving, which was one of his favourite past-times since the 1970s.<\/p>\n<p>He raced carriages near Norfolk before going on to represent Britain at several world and European championships.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2017, Prince Philip spoke about how he took up carriage driving when he stopped playing polo at the age of 50.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;I was looking round to see what next, I didn&#8217;t know what there was available.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;And I suddenly thought, well, we&#8217;ve got horses and carriages so why don&#8217;t I have a go.
