wall<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Saif Rehman, 23, was chased by officers after driving a suspected stolen car<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He raced at double the legal speed limit and went the wrong way round an island<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dramatic footage shows the moment a reckless BMW driver led police on a dangerous high-speed chase &#8211; before crashing into another car and a wall.<\/p>\n<p>Saif Rehman, 23, was spotted by traffic officers driving a suspected cloned and stolen vehicle in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham on July 31.<\/p>\n<p>He failed to stop for police and continued driving at more than double the speed limit, through red lights and swerving past other cars along residential streets.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, Rehman sped the wrong way around a roundabout and smashed into another car before driving off and eventually hitting a brick wall.<\/p>\n<p>The shocking chase was captured by a police helicopter&#8217;s thermal camera as well as dash-cam footage from traffic cops on the ground.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/17\/75086025-12483589-image-a-1_1693932626430.jpg\" height=\"381\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Saif Rehman, 23, was chased by police officers after they suspected him of driving a stolen and cloned BMW in Birmingham<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/17\/75086029-12483589-image-a-2_1693932629070.jpg\" height=\"915\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>He was detained after eventually crashing into a brick wall, having already smashed into another car and driven off<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/17\/75086019-12483589-image-a-3_1693932638781.jpg\" height=\"377\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Rehman was caught on CCTV going the wrong way around a traffic island and racing through red lights at double the speed limit<\/p>\n<p>Rehman can be seen trying to flee on foot away after crashing the vehicle before he was tracked by the National Police Air Service.<\/p>\n<p>Officers detained him as he tried to casually walk along Blakeland Street, in Bordesley Green.<\/p>\n<p>Body-cam footage captures an officer saying &#8216;hello fella&#8217; before putting Rehman in handcuffs and telling him: &#8216;You&#8217;re under arrest, alright?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Rehman, of Great Barr, Birmingham, previously pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/17\/75086027-12483589-image-a-5_1693932656052.jpg\" height=\"411\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>He was finally caught and arrested while walking away from the crash scene on Blakeland Street in Bordesley Green<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/05\/17\/75086023-12483589-image-a-4_1693932648110.jpg\" height=\"347\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Rehman was jailed for 22 months and barred from the road for two years and 11 months last week<\/p>\n<p>He was jailed for 22 months and banned from driving for two years and 11 months at Birmingham Crown Court last Wednesday August 30.<\/p>\n<p>PC Simon Smith, from West Midlands Police&#8217;s Traffic Unit, said: &#8216;Rehman drove at incredibly dangerous speeds in his failed attempt to escape, all because he shouldn&#8217;t have been on the road in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I hope this sentence shows Rehman and others that we will not tolerate dangerous driving on our streets and we will take action.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a
