JEAN Boht has died aged 91 after a battle with dementia, her family said.<\/p>\n
The actress was best known for playing Nellie Boswell in the sitcom Bread.<\/p>\n

Jean was born in\u00a0Bebington,\u00a0Merseyside on March 6, 1932.<\/p>\n
The actress was a pupil at Wirral Grammar School for Girls and trained at the Liverpool Playhouse.<\/p>\n
She had a long and varied career on stage and screen but became a household name for her role in the hit 80s sitcom Bread.<\/p>\n
But her first big role was in two episodes of Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em.<\/p>\n

Throughout her career, Jean also had roles in series including\u00a0Last Of The Summer Wine,\u00a0Doctors,\u00a0Grange Hill, and Alan Bleasdale\u2019s\u00a0Boys From The Blackstuff.<\/p>\n
She also\u00a0appeared in the 2004 film Mothers and Daughters and starred in\u00a0Chris Shepherd's award-winning\u00a0short film\u00a0Bad Night for the Blues\u00a0in 2010.<\/p>\n
Jean was married to Bafta-winning composer Carl Davis in 1970.\u00a0<\/p>\n
They worked on a number of projects together, including the documentary series The World at War (1973\u20131974) and the animated film The Snowman (1982).<\/p>\n
