MEGHAN Markle has been branded "cruel" by her dad Thomas who insists his daughter holds the power in her relationship with Prince Harry.<\/p>\n

Speaking live from the US on Good Morning Britain today, Thomas Markle made an emotional plea to see his grandkids Archie, 4, and Lillibet, 2. <\/p>\n

And the 79-year-old also told hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley about his complicated relationship with his daughter in the exclusive chat.<\/p>\n

Thomas said he was desperate to be reunited with his grandchildren and thought it was "cruel" he was being denied this by Meghan.<\/p>\n

On his grandchildren he said: "I'm heartbroken. I am very upset. This is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent – to deny the right to see a grandchild.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"In California I can actually sue to see them but I don't want to do that. <\/p>\n

"The other thing is I've done nothing wrong. There's nothing that points to say I'm a bad guy.<\/p>\n

"I'm a really loving father and she knows that, and there's no excuse for treating me this way – no excuse to treat grandparents that way."<\/p>\n

Thomas said that despite spending countless years with his daughter, he "never saw the kind of woman she turned into".<\/p>\n

He added: "She's not the person I knew as my daughter."<\/p>\n

And Thomas claims Meg has more power in the relationship than Harry.<\/p>\n

When asked whether he thought the Duke was to blame, he said: "I think she has influence on Harry more than he does on her."<\/p>\n

Meghan, 41, and her dad's relationship has been strained since she married into the\u00a0Royal Family\u00a0in 2018.<\/p>\n

But Thomas added that he was sorry for anything he had done wrong and that he would be there for Meghan "forever".<\/p>\n

He said: "I am always here for her, I still love her – I'll love her forever. <\/p>\n

"That will never change but I want her to reach out to me and let me see my grandkids and let me have a little peace.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"People go to prison for five years and they're forgiven – I didn't do anything. So forgive me I guess.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I would always apologise for anything I've done wrong. I'm sorry if I have."<\/p>\n

Thomas also opened up about his own health battles, and explained he was managing his recovery following a major stroke last May.<\/p>\n
