against Portugal to secure a place in the quarter-finals\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fiji star Josua Tuisova is making the ultimate sacrifice at the World Cup and will carry on playing in France despite learning of his son\u2019s death last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Giant ball carrier Tuisova is one of the most important players for the Pacific Islanders who look set to face Steve Borthwick\u2019s England in the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p>Isikeli Ratulevu, the centre\u2019s father, informed Tuisova just hours before Fiji\u2019s dramatic 17-12 win over Georgia in Bordeaux last Saturday of his child\u2019s passing at the age of just seven after a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>Fijian website Fiji Village have reported that Tuisova has said he won\u2019t return home from the World Cup and missed his son\u2019s funeral today to stay as part of head coach Simon Raiwalui\u2019s squad.<\/p>\n<p>Fiji are on the verge of making the World Cup knock-out stages for only the third time in their history in France with England likely to be their last-eight opponents.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/03\/09\/76102355-12587535-image-a-18_1696320023049.jpg\" height=\"845\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Fiji star Josua Tuisova is playing on at the Rugby hours after his son died at home in Fiji<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/03\/13\/76111617-12587535-image-a-34_1696336958362.jpg\" height=\"345\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tuisova missed his son&#8217;s funeral today to continue playing at the Rugby World Cup in France<\/p>\n<p>Fiji only need to get one point against Portugal in their final Pool C clash to reach the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being told of his son\u2019s death on the eve of the Georgia game, Tuisova played 79 minutes and helped his team recover from a 9-0 deficit to claim victory\u00a0before he was yellow carded late on.<\/p>\n<p>The death of Tuisova&#8217;s son Tito was announced on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Tito Micgabraph Donzel Ratulevu,&#8217; a statement read.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;He is the son of Mr Josua Tuisova and Mrs Katarina Ladoge Ramoce.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Affectionately known as &#8220;Tito,&#8221; he peacefully departed after a prolonged battle with a debilitating illness in Lautoka hospital.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The funeral service, which was live streamed, was held at the Votua Catholic Church in the town of Ba.<\/p>\n<p>Footage has emerged of\u00a0Tuisova greeting fans folllowing Fiji&#8217;s match against Georgia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/03\/13\/76111615-12587535-image-a-35_1696336988473.jpg\" height=\"361\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The funeral was held in Fiji on Tuesday morning with church service having been live streamed<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/03\/09\/76102379-12587535-image-a-19_1696320241140.jpg\" height=\"773\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tuisova&#8217;s son Tito died last Wednesday in hospital having been suffering from a long illness<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/03\/08\/76100813-12587535-image-a-1_1696317242918.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tuisova has been a crucial to Fiji at the World Cup and scored a try in their win over Australia<\/p>\n<p>The Fijian star reportedly\u00a0spent over half an hour meeting and thanking fans following their victory, despite the loss of his son ahead of the match.<\/p>\n<p>Tuisova is seen signing merchandise including rugby balls and hats, as well as taking selfies with supporters.<\/p>\n<p>The centre has played a vital role in Fiji&#8217;s performances at the World Cup, with the 29-year-old named as the man-of-the-match in their stunning 22-15 win over Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Tuisova, who plays his club rugby in France for Racing 92, scored a crucial
