ITV\u00a0has axed two gameshows hosted respectively by Gary Lineker and Ian Wright, according to reports.<\/p>\n
MailOnline claims Sitting on a Fortune, hosted by former football star Lineker, and Moneyball, also fronted by sporting legend Wright, will be pulled from the TV schedule.<\/p>\n
Both have only run for two series, pricing contestants with the chance to win huge jackpots.<\/p>\n
A source told MailOnline “There are no current plans for a third series,” of either game shows.<\/p>\n
Before the statement, Lineker had talked about his predictions for the show’s success.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n “Hopefully we can just do lots of series and give lots of people lots of money.”<\/p>\n The show saw six contestants compete for an eye-water prize of \u00a3100,000.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Moneyball saw players battling it out for the chance to take home up to \u00a3250,000.<\/p>\n Express.co.uk has reached out to ITV for a comment on the reports.<\/em><\/p>\n The news comes shortly after Melvyn Bragg hit out at Lineker’s \u00a31.3 salary with the BBC.<\/p>\n Match Of the Day host Lineker has been the BBC’s highest paid on-air talent for six consecutive years, and last month Lord Bragg, the presenter of Radio 4’s In Our Time, claimed Lineker earns “27 times” his salary but that their shows have “about the same audience” numbers.<\/p>\n Speaking ahead of his show’s 1,000th episode on Thursday, Bragg told Times2: “I get about the same audience as Gary Lineker. Yeah, about the same number.<\/p>\n It’s worth thinking about. And the effort and energy that’s put into (our show).”<\/p>\n Pundit Lineker was paid in 2022\/23 between \u00a31,350,000 and \u00a31,354,999 for work including Match Of The Day, coverage of the World Cup 2023 and Sports Personality Of The Year.<\/p>\n
