IF you\u2019re anything like us, you\u2019ve been counting down the days until you can start wearing your autumn wardrobe.<\/p>\n

But as you reach for your chunky knits and jeans, what should you be pairing them with?\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A style pro has done a detailed run-through of the shoes of the season and what boots<\/span> tick all the right boxes \u2013 and those that should be left on the shelf.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s bad news<\/span> if your go-to is an over-the-knee style, as fashion influencer Julia said they fall firmly into the don\u2019t category.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The New York based style expert, who can be found on TikTok at @beingjulia, explained: \u201cIf you are wondering what boots to wear for fall 2023, look no further.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s talk about the dos and don\u2019ts for boots this fall, and this is just based on what I\u2019m seeing for trends this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then began with what she deemed the \u201cdon\u2019ts\u201d \u2013 starting out with a popular style that\u2019s been rapidly decreasing in popularity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Julia explained: \u201cWe\u2019ve not seen the over the knee suede boots in a long time, so these ones are a no.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

She then said the other styles that we should be swerving, as she continued: \u201cWe want to avoid the rounded toe ankle boots, especially when paired with rolled up, skinny jeans.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s also avoid boots with the V at the side,\u201d she added, as she pointed to a picture of the boot with a V dip.<\/p>\n

Julia also said that slouchy suede boots and riding boots are out \u2013 especially when they don\u2019t have a heel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But once she\u2019d covered the ones we shouldn\u2019t be stepping out in, Julia said there were plenty of other options left.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She began: \u201cNow let\u2019s move onto the dos.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still love ankle boots, but look for something with a square or a pointed toe.<\/p>\n

This is just based on what I\u2019m seeing for trends this year<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd make sure that your jeans are going over the ankle boots so that we don\u2019t see your ankles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Up next<\/span>, Julia highlighted the return of cowboy boots as being a key trend for the autumn.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She then added: \u201cAnd you can never go wrong with a classic pair of knee-high leather boots. I love them paired with a maxi or midi skirt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Julia concluded that there\u2019s one final style to keep your eyes peeled for.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe are starting to see the emergence of the biker or the moto boot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
