{"id":144263,"date":"2023-10-18T20:00:04","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T20:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebritywshow.com\/?p=144263"},"modified":"2023-10-18T20:00:04","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T20:00:04","slug":"schoolboy-14-grounded-for-vaping-hanged-himself-at-his-familys-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebritywshow.com\/world-news\/schoolboy-14-grounded-for-vaping-hanged-himself-at-his-familys-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Schoolboy, 14, grounded for vaping hanged himself at his family&apos;s home"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Schoolboy, 14, who was grounded for vaping hanged himself at his family&#8217;s \u00a31million home, inquest hears<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dylan King Ng, 14, hanged himself at home in Braunton, Devon, on March 17\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact Samaritans for free on 116 123, email them at jo@samaritans.org or\u00a0visit samaritans.org to find your nearest branch<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A schoolboy hanged himself at his family&#8217;s \u00a31 million home after he was grounded for vaping, an inquest heard<\/p>\n<p>Dylan King Ng, 14, argued with his parents and locked himself in his family&#8217;s bathroom on March 17, after he was caught vaping at school a week earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Within an hour, his parents broke down the door and found their son hanging at the family home in Braunton, Devon<\/p>\n<p>An inquest heard from his parents that Dylan was a talented musician, enjoyed sport and was doing well academically.<\/p>\n<p>His distraught parents Donald and Kathy said their son &#8216;loved life&#8217; and was a &#8216;free spirit&#8217; who enjoyed surfing, snowboarding and skiing holidays.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/18\/19\/76721541-12645649-image-a-1_1697654785710.jpg\" height=\"402\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Dylan King Ng, 14, was a pupil at Braunton Academy, where he was described as a popular student who loved sport and was doing well academically<\/p>\n<p>In a written statement to Exeter Coroner&#8217;s Court, the couple said: &#8216;The whole events of that evening seem unreal and we have replayed them repeatedly to make sense of them. There were never signs or indications he had thoughts to harm himself.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;What he did was an impulsive moment of anger and rage. I imagine he was really upset and wanted to kick back in a most extreme way to show how upset he was. I don&#8217;t think he wanted to die as he had so much life to live.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The inquest heard that on the evening of March 17, Dylan was grounded and could not go out with his friends that weekend.<\/p>\n<p>He was angry about this and locked himself in the bathroom, taking some comics to read while his father tried to coax him out.<\/p>\n<p>After an hour, Dylan&#8217;s parents broke down the door and found their son hanging with his comics lying on the floor.<\/p>\n<p>The couple insisted Dylan would have had no thoughts about harming himself.<\/p>\n<p>They added: &#8216;He generally was a really happy boy who enjoyed life and was excited about growing up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Tragically he acted impulsively and, immaturely at the age of 14, he did not really know the consequences of his actions and that they were not reversible and the devastation it would cause.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>They said he was a &#8216;popular&#8217; boy at school who had become body conscious and went to a gym three times a week.
