Debate breaks out on GMB as childless comedian says he doesn&#8217;t want &#8216;terrifying gangs of masked youths coming to his door&#8217;<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Comedian Dave Chawner\u00a0doesn&#8217;t want kids turning up at his door on Halloween<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0\u00a0These are the candies trick-or-treaters want you to buy<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A debate broke out on Good Morning Britain today\u00a0after a childless comedian said he doesn&#8217;t want children turning up at his door\u00a0trick-or-treating on Halloween.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, The Traitors star and mother-of-two Amanda Lovette, from\u00a0Swansea, argued that spooky season brings the &#8216;community together&#8217; while also appearing on the ITV programme.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Comedian Dave Chawner said: &#8216;It&#8217;s terrible, I remember when I was a kid, we used to tell kids <span>not<\/span> to accept sweets from strangers, now we are saying they are going to go door to door taking sweets off strangers, it&#8217;s terrible.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8216;I live in south London, I don&#8217;t want gangs of masked youths coming door to door that&#8217;s terrifying.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/20\/10\/76793087-12652875-image-a-28_1697794712117.jpg\" height=\"352\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Good Morning Britain, The Traitors star and mother-of-two Amanda Lovette, from Swansea, (left) said spooky season brings the &#8216;community together&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Amanda disagreed, saying: &#8216;No, it&#8217;s about community and family and having an excuse for a party, the nights are drawing in, we have got winter coming and it&#8217;s nice to get the kids dressed up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;For 35 years we have embraced Halloween and it&#8217;s fabulous, the joy the children get from it.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>However, Dave hammered home his sentiments that he would rather not get involved in the season.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;I don&#8217;t know any of my neighbours and isn&#8217;t that beautiful, I don&#8217;t want to get to know them.&#8217; He added: &#8216;I don&#8217;t have kids, I made a conscious decision not to have kids, I don&#8217;t want them turning up at my door.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Viewers of the ITV show took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to leave their own thoughts with over 84 per cent\u00a0of adults saying it wasn&#8217;t unkind to pretend not to be home to avoid any trick-or-treaters, according to the programme.<\/p>\n<p>One person wrote: &#8216;I have turned the lights off to avoid answering the door.&#8217; Another said: &#8216;Where I live there are a lot of children. We went to our local police station, they gave us a &#8216;trick or treat no thanks&#8217; poster we display this in our window and have a peaceful night.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>While a fourth said: &#8216;All year round we tell our kids don&#8217;t talk to strangers, don&#8217;t accept anything from strangers.
