PAPU GOMEZ has broken his silence after confirming he\u2019s been slapped with a two-year ban for a failed drugs test.<\/strong><\/p>\n Reports on Friday claimed the World Cup winner with Argentina, 35, had been suspended after receiving a positive test before last year\u2019s tournament.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And Gomez, who left Spanish side Sevilla for Italian outfit Monza over the summer, has now confirmed the ban.<\/p>\n The former Atalanta ace published a lengthy statement to social media revealing that Spanish anti-doping chiefs have \u201csuspended\u201d his licence for two years.<\/p>\n Gomez claims he \u201caccidentally\u201d had some cough syrup meant for his ill son.<\/p>\n As a result, Terbutaline was found in his system during a test by Spanish drugs chiefs.<\/p>\nREAD MORE IN FOOTBALL<\/h2>\n
