A DISCOUNT supermarket with more than 800 branches will close all of its stores on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n
Iceland will be pulling down the shutters on all of its shops so its staff can spend more time with their families.<\/p>\n

The frozen food specialist will close on Boxing Day, it confirmed to The Sun.<\/p>\n
This is on top of being shut on Christmas Day, as it is every year.<\/p>\n
Most supermarkets and shops open on Boxing Day so shoppers can stock up on supplies over the first period.<\/p>\n
But there will still be plenty of time for customers to cram in their Christmas shopping before the big day.<\/p>\n
You can use the store locator tool on Iceland's website to find the opening times for your nearest branch.<\/p>\n Iceland also closed its doors on Boxing Day last year to give its staff a well-earned rest.<\/p>\n It comes after bargain retailers Poundland, Home Bargains and Aldi announced that they would also be shutting their doors on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n Almost all\u00a0stores across the UK\u00a0shut on Christmas Day, but there are also a handful of retailers that won't open on Boxing Day either.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Most of us will slowly return to usual working hours over the following week, and so will UK shops and supermarkets.<\/p>\n But then the New Year hits and shops will likely change their hours again.<\/p>\n This means customers will need to plan their shopping trips carefully from\u00a0Boxing Day\u00a0to New Year's Day.<\/p>\n Last year though dozens of chains\u00a0across the country made the decision to adjust their opening hours to give their workers a well-earned break.<\/p>\n John Lewis joined Aldi, Iceland and Poundland in pulling their shutters down on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n While other opted to operate with reduced hours instead, these included\u00a0Sainsbury's,\u00a0Primark,\u00a0Morrisons\u00a0and\u00a0B&M.<\/p>\n We'll keep you updated on the major chains' plans for this year as they're announced.<\/p>\n Opening hours can vary from branch to branch, so as we get closer to Christmas make sure to check your local store times before you make the trip.<\/p>\n Most big retailers will have their opening times listed on their websites nearer the time.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, we've put together a guide to all of this year's Chrsitmas ads, including Aldi, John Lewis, McDonald's and Sainsbury's.<\/p>\n You can also join our new Sun Money Facebook group to share stories and tips and engage with the consumer team and other group\u00a0members.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/picture>BANK BOOST <\/span><\/p>\n
