A self-confessed plastic surgery addict with 24 procedures on her nose alone says she is now disabled as a result of all her surgeries. <\/p>\n

Monique A Allen \u2013 known among Hollywood\u2019s trans community as The Glamorous Monique \u2013 says she had severe circulation problems as a result of injected silicone migrating to different parts of her body. It's meant some of the skin on her legs has \u201cdied.\u201d<\/p>\n

Documentary-maker Matt Cullen interviewed the retired government worker at her palatial home in Orange County, California. Through lips bloated by fillers, Monique told him how she would go to backstreet surgeons with $100 and tell them \u201cfill me up as much as you can\u201d.<\/p>\n

Monique had her gender reassignment surgery in 1978, courtesy of Colorado doctor Stanley H. Biber, who had pioneered the procedure. After the $3,800 operation, Monique didn\u2019t have any further surgeries for seven years. But at the age of 29, she visited notorious drag venue Queen Mary\u2019s, in Studio City.<\/p>\n

She explained: \u201cI started seeing some of these girls and I wanted things done\u2026 I started getting pumped up with silicone down in Tijuana.\u201d She said he had heard horror stories about the dangers of injecting silicone into your body but \u201cwhen you want it that badly you don\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the surgeons who worked on her was John Reginald Brown \u2013 sometimes called \u201cButcher Brown\u201d. He was eventually jailed for manslaughter after one of his patients bled to death.<\/p>\n

Monique ended up with D-cup boobs, and extra curves around her hips courtesy of the silicone clinics of Tijuana. She describes how the doctors would numb the target area with local anaesthetic, and then attach a funnel through the skin and pump the toxic substance in.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was very addictive, every time I got a little money, I\u2019d go down there,\u201d she continued. But it didn\u2019t end there. \u201cI think I\u2019ve had 24 nose jobs,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

But after a few years, the silicone began to slip from its original position and make its way towards her ankles. These days she can barely walk and is suffering a host of other medical problems.<\/p>\n

Monique, now in her mid-sixties, gets \u201ca lot of mean looks\u201d when she does go out. But still applies a full face of what she jokingly calls \u201cclown makeup\u201d every day.<\/p>\n
