{"id":145094,"date":"2023-11-15T14:19:24","date_gmt":"2023-11-15T14:19:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebritywshow.com\/?p=145094"},"modified":"2023-11-15T14:19:24","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T14:19:24","slug":"air-hostess-accidentally-poured-boiling-hot-coffee-onto-my-lap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebritywshow.com\/world-news\/air-hostess-accidentally-poured-boiling-hot-coffee-onto-my-lap\/","title":{"rendered":"Air hostess accidentally poured BOILING hot coffee onto my lap"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Air hostess accidentally poured BOILING hot coffee onto my lap&#8230; my legs were burned so badly I had to stand for the entire nine-hour flight<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EXCLUSIVE: Tracy Rawlins, 55 from Warwickshire, had hot coffee spilt on her leg<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>She said a flight attendant spilled it on her on return flight from Caribbean cruise<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A mother&#8217;s dream \u00a35,000 Caribbean cruise was ruined when she claims a flight attendant poured &#8216;boiling hot coffee&#8217; onto her lap &#8211; burning between her legs so badly she couldn&#8217;t sit down for the nine-hour flight.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy Rawlins, 55, and her husband Matty Rawlins, 54, had spent an &#8216;amazing&#8217; week celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on a cruise before she says she was burned on her return flight from Barbados to Birmingham\u00a0on February 26 this year.<\/p>\n<p>The mother, from Water Orton, Warwickshire, says a flight attendant &#8216;wobbled&#8217; and accidentally poured the scalding liquid onto her lap, burning her thighs through a thin dress.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy claims the incident happened during the early in the flight during the first round of service, leaving her in such &#8216;agony&#8217; she was unable to sit down for the rest of the nine-hour flight.<\/p>\n<p>The mother of two claims the &#8216;horrific&#8217; incident could have been avoided if she had been given the usual tray to hold all food and beverages &#8211; instead of the cabin crew member pouring directly into a plastic cup that Tracy was holding.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/09\/09\/77598059-12729099-image-m-5_1699523166054.jpg\" height=\"796\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tracy Rawlins&#8217; (right with husband Matty) dream \u00a35,000 Caribbean cruise was ruined when she claims a flight attendant poured &#8216;boiling hot coffee&#8217; onto her lap &#8211; burning between her legs so badly she couldn&#8217;t sit down for the nine-hour flight<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/09\/09\/77598089-12729099-image-a-6_1699523224864.jpg\" height=\"845\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tracy, from Water Orton, Warwickshire, says a flight attendant &#8216;wobbled&#8217; and accidentally poured the scalding liquid onto her lap, burning her thighs through a thin dress<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/09\/09\/77598055-12729099-image-m-13_1699523452785.jpg\" height=\"476\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tracy says cabin crew members applied burn gel to the wounds and informed her the accident would be logged in an accident book, which she would be sent on email<\/p>\n<p>However, Tracy says the flight had run out of vegetarian meals and she was left without food or a tray &#8211; despite having the same issue on the outward journey, where she claims she was given chocolate fingers instead of a meal.<\/p>\n<p>The education worker says the incident produced &#8216;unbearably painful&#8217; blisters and left her with scarring that made her feel self-conscious over the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy said: &#8216;It ruined what was an amazing holiday. We were snorkelling, had lots of days out on different beaches, and went to little islands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It was beautiful and a great holiday, but spoiled by the flight home.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There were quite a few mishaps along the way.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;There were no vegetarian meals so I said I would just have coffee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Because I didn&#8217;t have a tray with food on, she just gave me a plastic cup to hold in my hand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;She poured the coffee and wobbled a bit but she just continued to pour it straight into my lap.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It was absolutely horrific. I couldn&#8217;t get up and I was just screaming.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I was strapped into my chair because of the turbulence and it was just scalding me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It just kept on going. The more I was screaming the more that she was shocked and it just kept coming out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It was a surreal moment, I thought it was never going to stop.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I was in absolute agony for the rest of the flight. It was horrendous.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I stood up for the rest of the flight. I couldn&#8217;t sit down, my legs couldn&#8217;t even be put together, it was the most painful thing ever.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The pain got worse. It&#8217;s absolutely disgusting. We&#8217;ve always had quite expensive holiday packages, but we&#8217;re certainly not valued customers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It&#8217;s left a massive bitter taste in my mouth with the way we&#8217;ve been ignored.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It could have been a little two-year-old child sitting there.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;They didn&#8217;t mean to do it obviously, we were just so ignored when it did happen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It could have been avoided. She could have gone to get a tray to put the cup on.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Something needs to be put in place so that can never happen to anybody else.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Tracy says she received medical treatment for her burns a few days after the incident, where she was prescribed a specialist cream by her GP.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy said: &#8216;My blisters took a few weeks to heal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;My legs are quite chunky anyway so with the chafing and everything else it was unbearable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I have scars and discolouration which impacted me over summer because you want to sunbathe, maybe go on holiday again and wear short skirts or shorts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I won&#8217;t do that now.
