Two CCTV images of the Ford Fiesta being driven by the group of four teenagers just minutes before they died in a car crash in Snowdonia have emerged today.

The pictures show the car carrying Harvey Owen, 17, Jevon Hirst, 16, Wilf Fitchett, 17, and Hugo Morris, 18, being driven through Harlech in North Wales on Sunday morning towards the mountains.

Just minutes later about eight miles away, their silver hatchback is thought to have veered off the A4085 in wet and windy conditions in Garreg before overturning. The last time the group are thought to have used their phones was at about midday.

The boys were reported missing to police on Monday afternoon and their bodies were found the next day inside the vehicle which was partially submerged in water.

The CCTV footage, published by The Sun today, was filmed at about 11.30am on a camera belonging to a business – and was taken before the boys were seen buying pasta and coal from a Premier Foods store in nearby Harlech for their camping trip.
