EASTENDERS fans have slated an 'unbearable scumbag' character – and have 'launched a petition' to bosses to make a big change. <\/p>\n

The BBC soap has been dealing with the return of Dean Wicks – Linda Carter's rapist – in recent weeks. <\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n

In this week's episodes, Dean said he wouldn't go to the police<\/span> about George Knight hitting him and causing him to fall down the stairs at the Vic if Linda admitted she had lied about him raping her in 2014. <\/p>\n

A distraught Linda spoke to her family and mum Elaine, who told her daughter they were "only words", so she went ahead and did what Dean asked. <\/p>\n

Linda didn't realise Dean was recording what she said, and in last night's episode, the toll of what she had to do almost made her turn to drink again. <\/p>\n

Thankfully Elaine's partner George caught her in time and the pair had a heart to heart, but it left some EastEnders viewers blaming Elaine for not considering her daughter's needs enough. <\/p>\n

Another added: "Elaine is unbearable, which is a shame because Harriet Thorpe is a lot of fun to watch (apart from this weeks scenes)."<\/p>\n

A third tweeted: "At least Elaine acted vaguely human towards Linda today \u2026 Still needs to be b**** slapped."<\/p>\n

Meanwhile a fourth shared: "Can we start an official petition or a go fund me for the costume department at #Eastenders to buy Elaine some actual clothes so she doesn\u2019t have to keep wearing lingerie under a blazer all the time?"<\/p>\n

A fellow viewer tweeted: "Elaine is a scumbag couldn\u2019t care less about her daughter and only cares about George!"<\/p>\n

Thankfully Elaine came to her senses and encouraged her daughter to "take her power<\/span> back", prompting Linda to go round to Beale's Eels and put Dean in his place. <\/p>\n
