Amid the Royal Family rift Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could "be invited for New Year" as King Charles wants to "mend bridges".<\/p>\n

This month rumours emerged that Harry and Meghan are "keen for reconciliation" after the prince reportedly called his father, King Charles, for his birthday earlier this month. In turn royal expert Jennie Bond spoke exclusively to OK!<\/b> and said Charles "would like nothing better than to mend bridges" with his youngest son.<\/p>\n

However, Prince William's relationship with Harry has been in a downward spiral since 2019 and has only worsened following the release of the Duke of Sussex's explosive memoir Spare in January 2023. It was then speculated if Harry and Meghan would be invited to spend Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham House, despite the ongoing rift. <\/p>\n

But TV presenter and journalist Jennie said the possibility of this could cause "major disruption" and "upset" for William and Kate amid the ongoing rift. She said: "I can\u2019t see how Charles could invite Harry and Meghan without causing major disruption and upsetting William and Kate, who would presumably refuse to attend.<\/p>\n

"So I don\u2019t think they will be invited for Christmas."<\/span><\/p>\n

However, hope could be on the horizon for the Royal Family as Jennie suggested that the New Year could be a turning point in reconciliation. Jennie explained: "Perhaps the New Year is possible if the rumours are correct.<\/p>\n

"A new year, a new leaf and I am certain that, in spite of all that has been so painfully said and done, the King loves his younger son very much and would like nothing better than to mend bridges with him and get to know his two grandchildren.<\/p>\n

"Small steps and in the right direction, but personally I think it\u2019s still a bit early to expect Harry and Meghan to be flying over. Maybe in the coming year though."<\/p>\n

With Harry and Meghan unlikely to attend Sandringham for Christmas, the royal expert said "with Meghan still firmly estranged from almost her entire US family, I imagine the Sussex\u2019s will be having a California Christmas with her mother, Doria, joining in."<\/span><\/p>\n

When asking Jennie if she thinks Harry misses his family in the UK, the royal expert said: "I hope that Harry is truly happy with the life he has chosen. But I think it\u2019s inevitable that he has moments of missing his life back in the UK, his friends, his family, his roots. <\/span><\/p>\n

"He wrote movingly in his book about his memories of when the family were altogether, sharing Christmas good cheer and having fun.<\/span><\/p>\n

"Harry clearly misses aspects of his life in the UK. But his relationship with his brother will have to be sorted out before that can happen again. And that seems like being a very, very long way off."<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
