Twitter CEO Linda Yacarino doubled down on Elon Musk’s ‘go f**k yourselves’\u00a0message to advertisers who are pulling their money from the platform or threatening to in a protest over hate speech fears.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Musk has been criticized for loosening Twitter’s grip on what some perceive to be hate speech, and has even been accused of stoking antisemitism on the site by not cracking down on certain accounts.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It is part of his original strategy for the platform – to do away with heavy-handed oversight and allow users to share their own thoughts free from interference from typically left-leaning big tech.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Yacarino – who previously attempted to temper criticism of Musk by emphasizing X’s position as not allowing any form of hatred or antisemitism – is now standing by his latest remarks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Musk took him on squarely, telling Deal Book host Andrew Sorokin:\u00a0‘If someone is going to try and blackmail me with advertising? Blackmail me with money? Go f*** yourself.<\/p>\n
‘Go f*** yourself, is that clear? Hey Bob, if you’re in the audience. That’s how I feel, don’t advertise.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
He apologized for his controversial support of one user who claimed Jews ‘have been pushing this exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
Musk endorsed the user’s perspective, tweeting: ‘You have said the actual truth.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
At Deal Book last night, he said his comment was ‘foolish’.<\/p>\n
He visited Israel earlier this week in an attempt to smooth things over.\u00a0<\/p>\n
