Brits reveal what they hate most about the season&#8230; with dark mornings and chapped lips among biggest bugbears<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><span>A poll of 2000 people conducted by the Post Office reveals staggering results<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Almost half of Britons admit to counting down the days until Springtime begins<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Results reveal 49 percent of Brits find waking up to dark mornings unbearable<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The winter blues are official according to new research, with a startling eight in ten people admitting to loathing the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Poll results reported by Post Office reveal that out of 2000 people, almost half (49 per cent) are already counting down the days until Spring begins.<\/p>\n<p>More than half (56 per cent) admit that winter is one of the worst things about living in Britain &#8211; with 50 per cent of the population longing for the sun and warmer days.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to poll results, some of Britons&#8217; worst winter woes were revealed, with 49 per cent of people agreeing that waking up to a dark morning is the most unbearable of changes brought by the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Slipping on ice (44 per cent), having a cold face (41 per cent), a runny nose (38 per cent) and paying the heating bills (34 per cent) are also considered the worst accompaniments to British winter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/06\/17\/78654675-12832667-image-a-15_1701883310618.jpg\" height=\"381\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/09\/08\/78648679-12832667-The_winter_blues_are_official_according_to_new_research_with_a_s-a-79_1702110194724.jpg\" height=\"952\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The winter blues are official according to new research, with a startling eight in ten people admitting to loathing the season (Photo: Getty)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>32 per cent of people expressed annoyance at having to\u00a0defrost the car in a hurry and 32 per cent of the population are particularly irked by freezing hands.<\/p>\n<p>One in three (31 per cent) anticipate getting out of a cosy, warm bed in the morning when the house is cold, while a further quarter (25 per cent) hate constantly having chapped lips.<\/p>\n<p>Almost a fifth of the population (17 per cent) are driven crazy by the frustration of trying to unlock one&#8217;s phone with gloves on, as does the boiler breaking (17 per cent) as soon as the temperature drops, while one in six despise travel disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>16 per cent of the population engage in the inevitable heating wars over the office temperature, while constantly fogged-up glasses (10 per cent) and the updates asking if there &#8216;is snow where you are?&#8217; (10 per cent) also drive-up heart rates.<\/p>\n<p>With unpredictable changes in weather throughout the season in the UK, almost nine in ten say they have considered seeking out winter sun between November and February.<\/p>\n<p>Alarmingly, however, four in ten (41 per cent) claim they are more likely to forget travel insurance for winter sun trips than summer &#8211; found \u2018Crisp, wintery walks&#8217; had been voted number one &#8211; earning 49 per cent of the vote and topping the 25-place ranking.<\/p>\n<p>The anticipation of Christmas earned the silver medal at 48 per cent, and there was a tie for third place, with &#8216;a roaring fire in a country pub&#8217;
