<\/p>\nANOTHER year of I'm A Celebrity is over and a new King of the Jungle has been crowned.<\/p>\n
After a week of eliminations the 2023 cast had been cut down to just three contestants who were left vying for the win in the 2023 grand final.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I'm A Celebrity 2023 started in November with\u00a012 famous faces\u00a0living together in the Australian jungle.<\/p>\n
Over the course of three weeks the contestants lived without any of the comforts they're used to and have also took part in gut-churning <\/strong>Bushtucker trials in order to win food.<\/p>\n Many of the trials involved getting close to Australian critters like spiders, maggots and snakes, though some fans declared retired boxer\u00a0Tony Bellew's final cockroach-filled trial the "worst of the whole show".<\/p>\n As the show neared its end, the campmates were forced to say goodbye to the\u00a0celebrities who failed to be saved by the public vote.<\/p>\n There were just three contestants left participating in the 2023 final which were:<\/p>\n On the night it was down to the\u00a0viewers to vote\u00a0for their winning campmate out of the three remaining finalists.<\/p>\n During the final episode, viewers saw the last standing contestants take on one more challenge before being treated to a luxurious meal of their choosing.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n For his final trial, Sam took on a vile eating challenge which saw him eat a pig's vagina.<\/p>\n Tony faced the Stakeout, where he was strapped down to a giant plate and was covered in jungle critters, and Nigel was thrown into the Panic Pit where he won a star for every two minutes he stayed in there.<\/p>\n After the votes had been counted, hosts Ant and Dec revealed that politician Farage had come in third place, leaving Sam and Tony to battle it out to be the new\u00a0King of the Jungle.<\/p>\n Tony was then revealed as the runner-up, meaning Sam was the winner.<\/p>\n Thompson has taken over the crown from Lioness\u00a0Jill Scott, who beat\u00a0Hollyoaks\u00a0star\u00a0Owen Warner\u00a0in 2022 to win the competition.<\/p>\n Sam was crowned the winner of I'm a Celebrity 2023 during the series' final episode.<\/p>\n The reality TV star, who had been a favourite to win, was overcome with emotion as he chatted to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly in his interview.<\/p>\n He said: "Oh my God. I'm really overwhelmed.<\/p>\n "I didn't think I was even going to be invited on the show. I don't know what to say.<\/p>\n "Oh my God. I'm so grateful, thank you so much. I've dreamt of doing this show for years and years.<\/p>\n "You've made a boy\u2019s dream come true. Thank you."<\/p>\n Thompson was greeted by his close friend and podcast co-host, TOWIE star Pete Wicks, as he left the jungle.<\/p>\n His girlfriend, Love Island star Zara McDermott, later posted a video to her Instagram showing the moment she watched as he was crowned the winner.<\/p>\n MasterChef\u00a0critic\u00a0Grace Dent\u00a0was the\u00a0first celeb to leave the jungle\u00a0in 2023 \u2014 but she wasn't voted out by the public.<\/p>\n Grace was forced to withdraw on "medical grounds" after just eight days in the camp.<\/p>\n Grace's\u00a0departure was followed by\u00a0Jamie Lynn Spears, who also left for health reasons.<\/p>\n Other than those two shock exits, the eliminations were decided by the public and the\u00a0celebrity\u00a0with the least votes was sent packing each night of the show's final week.<\/p>\n Each night, viewers watched as Ant and Dec\u00a0entered the camp to reveal who the viewers had voted to save \u2014 and which one was being evicted from the jungle.<\/p>\n Seven celebrities were evicted from the I'm a Celebrity Camp before the show's finale.<\/p>\n They were:<\/p>\nREAD MORE IN I'M A CELEBRITY<\/h2>\n
