Shannen Doherty has recalled how she discovered her husband's infidelity shortly before she underwent surgery to remove a brain tumour.
The Charmed star, 52, was married to husband Kurt Iswarienko for 12 years before filing for divorce earlier this year. At the time she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for this.
However, on the first episode of her new podcast Let's Be Clear, Shannen opened up about how she discovered that Kurt had been having an affair for two years and that it was this that led to her filing for divorce.
She said: "I filed for divorce this year, 2023. I had brain surgery in 2023 as well.
"I went into that surgery early in the morning and I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years.
"To not go in that surgery, even though, being very clear, he wanted to go, I couldn't go into that surgery with him there. I felt so betrayed.
"At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart."
Shannen then revealed that she instead was supported my her mum, brother, and best friend Chris, while undergoing the surgery.
She shared that although not all of the tumour was removed, her doctors were satisfied with the results, and she was able to continue undergoing radiation therapy.
And further discussing her marriage, Shannen shared that she became "obsessed" with finding out what had happened, even going so far as to contact her husband's girlfriend.
She then added, that although she has been divorced three times, she still "believes in love."
Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She underwent tests after her dog Bowie began to "obsessively sniff" at her side.
In 2016 she underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy and radiation after the cancer reached her lymph nodes. The cancer then went into remission in 2017, before returning a couple of years later.
Shannen appeared on Good Morning America in February 2020, where she announced the heartbreaking news that her cancer had returned. She told the show hosts: "My cancer came back, and that’s why I’m here.
Holding back tears, she continued: “I don’t think I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways.”
