Travis Barker has addressed his past comments about having a crush on Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian 's sister, after his remarks resurfaced.
The Blink-182 drummer, who married Kourtney last year and is expecting a child with her, spoke out against speculation that Kourtney and Kim might be in a feud, deeming it "ridiculous."
He acknowledged having previously shared in his memoir, Can I Say, that he found Kim attractive while she was working as Paris Hilton’s stylist in 2006.
The musician wrote in 2016 he was “secretly checking out Kim”, adding that he told a friend “I don’t care if she’s the closet girl, she’s f*****g hot.”
However, Travis explained that he had discussed these issues openly to move past them and that Kourtney is aware of their previous conversations.
He told the Los Angeles Times: “You give people a little information and they think they’ve solved the mystery of “this is why they’re fighting,” It’s just so ridiculous.”
He emphasised that it was a part of his past and that no harmful intent was behind those discussions.
He continued: “I obviously shared all that stuff because I wanted to move past it. It was therapeutic for me. … That’s her sister. She knows we used to talk. Nothing bad was going on.”
Tensions between Kim and Kourtney recently reached boiling point, after Kim teamed up with Dolce and Gabbana to serve as the creative director for one of their fashion shows, just a few months after Kourtney had collaborated with the designers for her wedding looks when she married Travis Barker.
Kourtney was unhappy that Kim was closely associated with the brand so soon after her wedding, accusing her sister of using the wedding for business purposes. Despite seemingly resolving their feud at the end of the third series after heartfelt conversations mediated by their sisters, the argument continues into the fourth season.
However, they seemed to have resolved some of their differences in a recent episode as Kourtney reached out to Kim during the latter's trip to Milan. Kourtney even paid tribute to Kim with a Halloween costume mimicking one of Kim's famous maternity looks.
The siblings have a history of clashes and disputes, with Kourtney taking a moment to reflect on her “fights” with her younger sister in a sweet birthday tribute.
The eldest Kardashian sister wrote: "Happy happy birthday," as she tagged Kim.
She continued: "Thank you for all those years of bossing you around and you actually listening to all of my crazy ideas.
"People think the fights they’ve seen on tv are bad if only they got to witness the hair pulling, nail digging ones from early high school."
She continued: "The joys of sisterhood. I love you deeply forever and always. May God bless this year with love and happiness and abundant joy."
